While most folks know The Moth through our podcast and Radio Hour, there is so much work that happens behind the scenes to bring the transformative power of storytelling all over the world. As an independent nonprofit, we rely on donations to help ensure we have the critical funds necessary to close the funding gap not covered by our ticket sales and partnerships with public radio and podcast advertisers.

Yes, we’ll send a receipt to the email address you provide when donating. The receipt will include your donation details, such as the date, amount, and any beneficiary information.

Storyville Center for the Spoken Word (d/b/a The Moth) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our EIN is 13-3880953. A portion of every Membership donation is not tax-deductible. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email donation receipt as your official record; it will include information regarding the non tax deductible portion of your donation.

Once we have received your gift, a staff Member will activate your Membership account and you will receive your username and password via email. Moth Member presale begins on the first Wednesday of each month for the following month’s shows.

You'll receive an email once your donation is complete, which will include a copy of your receipt for tax purposes, as well as instructions for claiming your Moth swag.

"The Moth Uninterrupted" is not part of Moth Membership; subscription to the ad-free version of our podcast is wholly managed through Apple. That being said, our podcast episodes are shared on our website ad-free each week. Visit themoth.org/podcast to listen via our audio player.
